Chinese developer R & F’s Australian arm has announced development plans for an amended $502 million mixed-use precinct and public riverside space at its 1.6-hectare site in West End, Brisbane.

The developer will continue with the approved masterplan development of more than 1000 apartments, while seeking changes to expand the public plaza, and also including river homes or lower level terraces along the Brisbane River plus new retail and commercial space for shops and restaurants.

"The project presents an important opportunity to transform one of Brisbane's under utilised inner city former industrial riverfront sites into a desirable, integrated urban precinct," R&F

Property Australia senior development manager Rodney Chadwick told The Australian Financial Review.

Staged over six years, the development will frontg the Brisbane River and sits between Hockings and Donkin Street. The site is one of five Brisbane landholdings owned by R & F, in addition to two in Melbourne.
